Scratches!!! How to Repair Your Oak Desk

Argh!!! I hate it when I scratch my oak furniture. I especially hate scratching my oak computer desk since I have to see and use it everyday. The good news is that it is pretty simple and easy to remove small scratches that are bound to happen. If you wipe your desk with a cloth, slightly moistened with a weak iodine liquid wax.

There also commercial liquid solutions to take care of your surface scratches. You can find these at your local hardware store. If you happen to get a really deep scratch or a deep chip, you might have to call in a restoration specialist to repair it.

Your oak desk is incredibly durable, but try not to abuse it too much.

Small Computer Desk Building Materials

It is a good idea to opt for a small computer desk made from heavy-duty MDF. These desks are durable and will last you for years. Cheaper desks made of plywood may seem attractive because of their price, but they usually start sagging and bending within several months of use.

Furthermore, a solid small desk should have coating, preferrably plastic, on its fee. This will protect the floor from any damages. These sturdy, non-slip coating caps stabilize the desk and its valuable contents. This will assure you that your monitor and other expensive equipment will not fall when your desk is bumped.

Materials Used to Contruct Your Glass Desk

Glass computer desks are created from the following materials: steel support frames, tempered glass, separate shelving units for your monitor and printer, and a retractable tray for your keyboard.

A typical glass desk can support up to 110 pounds (50 kg) on its tabletop. The shelves can typically support up to 55 pounds (25 kg). There are heavier duty models available if you need to support more weight. You also don't have to worry about the desk cracking or breaking as it has pressure and vibration tested during the manufacturing process.
